Tillandsia

They are special and strange at the same time - sometimes wiry, sometimes fluffy. Tillandsias are an extraordinary plant genus and due to their obscure appearance they are little eccentrics of the plant world.
The genus comprises over 550 species and is therefore the species-richest in the family of bromeliads. The most rootless tillandsias live primarily on other plants, such as on cacti or in the cool and humid lower leaf area of trees. Water is absorbed via suction scales, which can be found on the leaves.
You can classify tillandsias into „grey” and „green” types.
