The botanical name of this succulent is Aeonium decorum 'Starburst'. This succulent belongs to the plant genus Aeonium, which is classified under the family Crassulaceae (stonecrop family). This succulent is native to the Canary Islands.
Aeonium decorum 'Sunburst' is green and yellow and has a rosette growth habit. The flower is white. It forms during the flowering season in summer. You will receive a plant in an 8.5cm pot, with a height of 12cm including the pot. The attainable growth height is 50cm.
Let's move on to the care of Aeonium decorum 'Sunburst'. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil and mineral components is ideal as a substrate. Aeonium decorum 'Sunburst' does not tolerate waterlogging, so good drainage of the water should be ensured, and the substrate should be allowed to dry out before re-watering. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilize every two to three weeks.
The light requirement for this succulent is met in a sunny location. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best suited. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Aeonium decorum 'Sunburst' can spend the summer outdoors after gradually getting accustomed to direct sun. However, it should be brought indoors when temperatures drop below 15°C. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Also, fertilizing is stopped, and watering is reduced. However, the plant is not suitable for the garden.
Propagation of this succulent is possible by seeds, as well as leaf and stem cuttings. In arrangements, it combines best with other Crassulaceae, such as Echeverias and Crassulas. Aeonium decorum 'Sunburst' is generally non-toxic, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with animals.
A note: Sizes and shapes may vary for plants, where each piece is unique. This is especially true in winter or when availability is low. The coloring also varies depending on the season.
