How to ensure your succulents arrive safely

Especially in online retail, some customers have concerns about whether plants are packaged properly and whether they will arrive in the desired condition. We understand these concerns and would like to give you an insight into our packaging process:

Transport preparation

We generally ensure that the succulents are not too moist before shipping. Unfortunately, sometimes it's unavoidable to ship wet plants. Shipping usually takes only 1-3 days, and 2-5 days throughout Europe – your new succulent can survive this long, even in the dark. Please check upon arrival whether watering is necessary. Especially in summer, it can get very warm in the vans and packages. In winter, we suspend shipping if daytime temperatures fall below -5°C to avoid endangering the plants.

Surface protection

Some succulents are more delicate than others—that's why the most delicate plant is our benchmark. We individually wrap each plant in fine recycled tissue paper to protect it from the environment and the filling material. This also prevents the soil or substrate from spilling into the box if it tips over or falls.

Shock resistance

Your order will be gently encased in environmentally friendly, biodegradable packaging chips inside the box, ensuring it can easily withstand drops or mishandling. The packaging chips are made from plant starch, are vegan, and even edible. Furthermore, the filling material provides good protection against heat and cold.

The dimensionally stable cardboard protects against knocks and bumps.

Sufficient space

We pack each plant with equal care, leaving enough space between the plants and their traveling companions. This means that, if necessary, your order will be divided into several boxes to avoid collisions. Especially for wedding orders with more than 100 plants with planters, we are happy to send the pots separately.

Sustainable shipping

Despite the extensive packaging required, we place great importance on environmentally friendly materials and recyclable fillers. We consciously avoid plastic and choose service providers that offer CO2-neutral shipping.

We are happy to pay a few cents extra per delivery for this.

But did you find plastic in your package? Environmental awareness also includes effective recycling and, related to this, the sustainability of the raw materials used. Therefore, we reuse any packaging sent to us whenever possible.

We also mark the outside of your package with stickers that indicate to the courier where it is up/down and if it contains living items.

Unpacking & Sun

Upon arrival, you should open your package immediately. Plants need light and will thrive after a few days in the dark. However, your succulents should not be placed in direct sunlight. Although they are very sun-loving, they cannot tolerate direct UV radiation. Our succulents are grown in greenhouses and are not accustomed to direct sunlight. They need time to acclimate to the new conditions, otherwise they may get sunburned.

We are for sunburn, or burnt leaves not responsible.

Who am I?

Each plant you order will receive a label with its name before shipping, so you can immediately identify which succulent you are holding when you unpack it.

Something wrong?

Despite our elaborate packaging, which is designed to ensure safe and gentle transport for your succulents, it does happen that a succulent does get damaged.

If there is some soil or substrate on your succulent due to improper handling, you can remove it with a soft Remove (cosmetic) brushes.

A broken leaf can be easily removed and propagated if necessary, and is not grounds for complaint. If it looks a bit worn, it's usually just a case of acclimatizing and needs frequent watering during the summer. Succulents are natural products, each one unique. They never look exactly like the product photo. If you want a perfect plant, please consider a plastic alternative.

Improvement or feedback?

In addition to the health of our plants, your satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. After all, we don't just want to sell you a product, we want to make you happy with your order.
We are constantly improving our procedures and processes and, of course, rely on your feedback.

If anything wasn't what you expected, please contact us. Of course, we also welcome positive feedback. :)
