Aloe Black Gem - 6cm

The botanical name of this succulent is *Aloe 'Black Gem'*. The synonym *x Alworthia Black Gem* is also frequently used. It is known as Aloe in German. The succulent belongs to the genus *Aloe*, which is classified in the family Asphodelaceae. It is a hybrid of *Aloe speciosa* (South African provinces of Northern Cape and Western Cape) and *Haworthia cymbiformis* (South African province of Eastern Cape).

Aloe 'Black Gem' is green and has a rosette growth form. You will receive a plant in a 6cm pot, with a height of approximately 14cm including the pot. The maximum height it can reach is 15cm to 20cm.
Caring for the Aloe 'Black Gem' is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. The Aloe 'Black Gem' does not tolerate waterlogging, so good drainage should be ensured and the substrate should be allowed to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates less water rather than too much. Fertilizing is necessary every three to four weeks.
This succulent needs a bright to semi-shaded location. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Aloe 'Black Gem' can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Fertilizing is stopped, and watering is reduced. However, the plant is not suitable for the garden.
The leaf bark of the Aloe 'Black Gem' contains a poisonous sap; we cannot guarantee its compatibility with animals.
