Care instructions for your Aeonium

Succulents store water in their leaves and therefore tolerate drought well. Place them in a bright, sunny spot and only water them when the soil is completely dry. Avoid waterlogging at all costs!

It's better to water a little too little than too much.

Your new succulent roommate 🌿

I am Aeonium arboreum

The botanical name of this succulent is *Aeonium arboreum*. In German, it is known as Rosettendickblatt. The succulent belongs to the genus *Adromischus*, which is part of the Crassulaceae family. This succulent is native to the Canary Islands.

Aeonium arboreum is greenish to reddish and has the growth form of a stem-forming rosette. The flower is yellow and arranged in an egg-shaped pattern. It develops during the flowering period from January to February. You will receive a large plant in a 17cm pot, with a height of about 40cm. The maximum height it can reach is 60cm to 100cm.
Let's move on to the care of Aeonium arboreum. A substrate of a mixture of cactus and succulent soil and mineral components is suitable. Aeonium arboreum does not tolerate waterlogging, so good drainage should be ensured and the substrate should be allowed to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing can be done every three to four weeks.
This succulent's light requirement is met in a sunny location. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Aeonium arboreum 'Velours' can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sun. However, it should be brought back indoors at temperatures below 15°C. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Furthermore, fertilizing stops and watering is reduced.
This succulent is best propagated by stem cuttings. In arrangements, it combines best with other succulent plants, such as Echeverias and Crassulas. Aeonium arboreum is generally non-toxic, but we cannot guarantee its suitability for animals.
Please note: Sizes and shapes may vary for plants, as each item is unique. This is especially true in winter or when availability is low. The color also varies depending on the season.
