Our coarse activated carbon, of food-grade quality, is a high-quality, natural additive for all types of plant substrates. Due to its open-pored structure, it acts like a filter in the pot: It binds pollutants, neutralizes odors, and effectively prevents waterlogging and root rot.

The carbon particles loosen heavy soils and improve oxygen supply in the root zone. Ideal for demanding plants such as succulents, tillandsias, orchids, bonsai, or in hydroponics. Also suitable for use in terrariums or indoor gardening as a drainage and cleaning layer.

Application recommendation

• Substrate mix: Use 5–15% activated carbon as an admixture.
• Drainage layer: 1–2 cm activated carbon at the bottom of the pot - combine with lava if desired.
• Hydroponics: Sprinkle between water reservoir and plant for a clean environment.
• Terrariums: Incorporate as a base under moss or soil.
