Care instructions for your Ceropegia

Succulents store water in their leaves and therefore tolerate drought well. Place them in a bright, sunny spot and only water them when the soil is completely dry. Avoid waterlogging at all costs!

It's better to water a little too little than too much.

The botanical name of this succulent is *Ceropegia linearis* ssp. *debilis*. Synonyms often used are *Ceropegia debilis* and *Ceropegia linearis*. In German, it is known as Leuchterblume (candlestick flower). In English, it is also called String of Needles.

This succulent belongs to the genus *Ceropegia*, which is classified in the Apocynaceae family. This succulent is native to South Africa, Lesotho, and Swaziland. *Ceropegia woodii* is green with a trailing growth habit. The flower is violet, tubular, and solitary. It blooms throughout the year. You will receive a plant in an 8cm pot, with a total height of approximately 45cm (hanging) including pot and plant. The maximum height it can reach is 200cm to 400cm (can be pruned to a shorter length).
Caring for *Ceropegia linearis* ssp. *debilis* is relatively simple. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. *Ceropegia linearis* ssp. *debilis* does not tolerate waterlogging, so ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilize once a month, or every four weeks. This succulent's light requirement is met in a bright location. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. *Ceropegia linearis* ssp. *debilis* can spend the summer outdoors after gradually acclimating it to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Fertilizing is stopped, and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
This succulent can be propagated by stem cuttings or tubers. *Ceropegia linearis* ssp. *debilis* can be poisonous; we cannot guarantee its safety for animals.
