Care instructions for your Senecio

Succulents store water in their leaves and therefore tolerate drought well. Place them in a bright, sunny spot and only water them when the soil is completely dry. Avoid waterlogging at all costs!

It's better to water a little too little than too much.

I am Senecio cephalophorus

The botanical name of this succulent is *Senecio cephalophorus*. The synonyms *Kleinia cephalophora* or *Senecio fulgens* are also frequently used. In German, it is known as Greiskraut or Kreuzkraut. The succulent belongs to the genus *Senecio*, which is classified in the Asteraceae family. This succulent is native to South Africa.

Senecio cephalophorus is evergreen. The flowers are bright orange and arranged in umbels. They bloom from August to October. You will receive a plant in a 6cm pot, with a total height of pot and plant of approximately 14cm. The plant can grow to a height of 30cm to 50cm.
Caring for Senecio cephalophorus is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Senecio cephalophorus does not tolerate waterlogging, so you should ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing is rarely necessary. This succulent needs a sunny to bright location to meet its light requirements. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Senecio cephalophorus can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 10°C. Furthermore, fertilizing is stopped and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden. This succulent can be propagated by head cuttings. Senecio cephalophorus can be poisonous.
