Senecio crassissimus - 6cm

The botanical name of this succulent is *Senecio crassissimus*. In German, it is known as Greiskraut or Kreuzkraut. The succulent belongs to the genus *Senecio*, which is part of the Asteraceae family. This succulent is native to Madagascar and the Comoros.

Senecio crassissimus is green and purple. The flower is light yellow and star-shaped. It blooms between August and October. You will receive a plant in a 6cm pot, with a total height of about 15cm (pot and plant). The plant can grow to a height of 50cm to 75cm.
Caring for Senecio crassissimus is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Senecio crassissimus does not tolerate waterlogging, so good drainage should be ensured and the substrate should be allowed to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing is rarely necessary.
This succulent needs a sunny to bright location. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Senecio crassissimus can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 10°C. Furthermore, fertilizing is stopped and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
This succulent can be propagated by stem cuttings. Senecio crassissimus can be poisonous.
