The botanical name of this succulent is Echeveria 'Maruba Benitsukasa'. Synonyms commonly used include Echeveria nodulosa marubu 'Benitsukasa' or Echeveria 'Beni Tsukasa'. It is known by its German name as Echeveria. The succulent belongs to the plant genus Echeveria, which is assigned to the Crassulaceae family. It is a hybrid of Echeveria nodulosa, which originates from Mexico.
It is a hybrid of Echeveria nodulosa from Mexico, and was bred in Japan. Echeveria 'Maruba Benitsukasa' is green, red, and purple with a rosette-shaped growth habit. The flower is pink to cream-colored and bell-shaped. It forms during the flowering period from June to September. You will receive a plant in a 10.5cm pot, with a total height of approximately 8cm including the pot and plant. The achievable growth height is 30cm to 40cm.
Caring for Echeveria 'Maruba Benitsukasa' is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Echeveria 'Maruba Benitsukasa' does not tolerate waterlogging, so ensure good drainage and let the substrate dry out before watering again. In general, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. You can fertilize it once a month, i.e., every four weeks.
The light requirements of this succulent are met in a sunny location. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Echeveria 'Maruba Benitsukasa' can spend the summer outdoors after gradually acclimatizing it to direct sun. In winter, the temperature should be around 10°C. Furthermore, fertilizing should cease, and watering should be reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
Propagation of this succulent is possible through leaf and stem cuttings. Echeverias are not toxic, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with animals.
