Care instructions for your Crassula

Succulents store water in their leaves and therefore tolerate drought well. Place them in a bright, sunny spot and only water them when the soil is completely dry. Avoid waterlogging at all costs!

It's better to water a little too little than too much.

I am Crassula ovata Gandalf

The botanical name of this succulent is *Crassula ovata* 'Gandalf'. In German, it is known as *Geldbaum*, *Pfennigbaum*, or *Dickblatt*. The succulent belongs to the genus *Crassula*, which is part of the Crassulaceae family.

It is a hybrid of Crassula ovata 'Horn tree' and Crassula minor, both originating from South Africa. Crassula ovata 'Gandalf' is green and red with a branched growth habit. You will receive a plant in a 6cm pot, with a total height of pot and plant of about 12cm. The achievable growth height is 30cm to 60cm.
Caring for Crassula ovata 'Gandalf' is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Crassula ovata 'Gandalf' does not tolerate waterlogging, so you should ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates less water rather than too much. Fertilizing can be done once a month, or every four weeks.
This succulent needs a sunny, bright to semi-shaded location to meet its light requirements. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Crassula ovata 'Gandalf' can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Fertilizing is stopped, and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
This succulent can be propagated by leaf and stem cuttings. Crassula ovata 'Gandalf' is generally non-toxic, but we cannot guarantee its suitability for animals.
