The botanical name of this succulent is *Crassula ovata*. The synonym *Crassula argentea* is also frequently used. In German, it is known as *Dickblatt*, *Pfennigbaum*, *Elefantenbaum*, *Speckeiche*, *Jadestrauch*, or *Judasbaum*.
The succulent belongs to the plant genus Crassula, which is classified in the family Crassulaceae. This succulent is native to South Africa.
Crassula ovata is an evergreen plant with a shrubby growth habit. The flowers are white, star-shaped, and arranged in umbels. It rarely blooms, as this requires specific conditions. You will receive a plant in a 10.5cm pot, with a total height of approximately 20cm (including pot and plant). The plant can reach a height of 50cm to 200cm.
Caring for Crassula ovata is relatively simple. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Crassula ovata does not tolerate waterlogging, so you should ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again.
