Care instructions for your Adenium

Succulents store water in their leaves and therefore tolerate drought well. Place them in a bright, sunny spot and only water them when the soil is completely dry. Avoid waterlogging at all costs!

It's better to water a little too little than too much.

I am Adenium obesum

The botanical name of this succulent is *Adenium obesum*. Synonyms frequently used include *Adenium arabicum*, *Adenium arboreum*, *Adenium coetaneum*, *Adenium honghe*, *Adenium micranthum*, *Adenium socotranum*, *Adenium somalense*, *Adenium speciosum*, *Adenium tricholepis*, *Cameraria obesa*, or *Nerium obesum*. In German, it is known as the desert rose.

The succulent belongs to the plant genus Adenium, which is classified in the Apocynaceae family. This succulent is native to the steppes of Africa and Arabia.
Adenium obesum is an evergreen plant with a caudex growth form, meaning it has a thickened, succulent stem. The flower is red and five-petaled. It blooms during spring and summer, after the dry season. You will receive a plant in a 12cm pot, with a total height of approximately 30cm (pot and plant). The plant can grow to a height of 100cm to 300cm.
Caring for Adenium obesum is relatively simple. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Adenium obesum does not tolerate waterlogging, so you should ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing can be done once a month, or every four weeks.
This succulent's light requirement is met in a sunny location. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. *Adenium obesum* can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Furthermore, fertilization is stopped and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
This succulent can be propagated by seeds, but also by stem cuttings. Adenium obesum has a poisonous sap; we cannot guarantee its compatibility with animals.

Please note: Sizes and shapes may vary for plants, as each item is unique. This is especially true in winter or when availability is low. The color also varies depending on the season.
