I am
Cotyledon tomentosa is green with a compact, branched growth habit. The flower is orange-red to yellow, five-petaled and arranged on a branched flower stalk. It forms during the flowering season from summer to autumn. You will receive a plant in a 5.5cm pot, with a total height of about 12cm including the pot and plant. The achievable growth height is 10cm to 15cm.
Caring for Cotyledon tomentosa is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Cotyledon tomentosa does not tolerate waterlogging, so ensure good drainage and let the substrate dry out before watering again. In general, this succulent tolerates too little rather than too much water. You can fertilize once a month, i.e., every four weeks.
The light requirement of this succulent is met in a sunny location. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best suited. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Cotyledon tomentosa can spend the summer outdoors after it has been gradually accustomed to direct sun. In winter, the temperature should be around 10°C. Furthermore, fertilizing is stopped and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
Propagation of this succulent is possible by seeds, but also by leaf and stem cuttings. Cotyledon tomentosa is generally non-toxic, but we cannot guarantee its compatibility with animals.
A note: Sizes and shapes can vary in plants, where each piece is unique. This applies especially in winter or when availability is low. The coloration also varies depending on the season.
