Care instructions for your Aloe

Succulents store water in their leaves and therefore tolerate drought well. Place them in a bright, sunny spot and only water them when the soil is completely dry. Avoid waterlogging at all costs!

It's better to water a little too little than too much.

I am Aloe vera

The botanical name of this succulent is *Aloe vera*. Synonyms frequently used include *Aloe barbadensis*, *Aloe barbadensis var. chinensis*, *Aloe chinensis*, *Aloe elongata*, *Aloe flava*, *Aloe indica*, *Aloe lanzae*, *Aloe maculata*, *Aloe perfoliata var. barbadensis*, or *Aloe perfoliata var. vera*. In German, it is known as *Echte Aloe* (true aloe) or *Wüstenlilie* (desert lily).

This succulent belongs to the genus Aloe, which is classified in the family Asphodeloideae. This succulent is native to Northeast Africa, tropical Africa, South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland, India, and the Arabian Peninsula.
Aloe vera is green and has a rosette growth form. The flower is yellow, tubular, and arranged in clusters. It forms during the flowering period from June to August. You will receive a plant in a 12cm pot, with a total height of pot and plant of about 18cm. The achievable growth height is 30cm to 50cm. Now to the care of the aloe vera. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Aloe vera does not tolerate waterlogging, so you should ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again. In general, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing is possible every three to four weeks.
This succulent needs a bright to semi-shaded location. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Aloe vera can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Furthermore, fertilizing stops and watering is reduced. However, the plant is not suitable for the garden.
The leaf bark of the aloe vera contains a poisonous sap, and we cannot guarantee that it is safe for animals.
