The botanical name of this succulent is *Aloe 'Red Shade'*. The synonym *Aloe Christmas Carol* is also frequently used. It is known as *Aloe* in German. The succulent belongs to the genus *Aloe*, which is classified in the family Asphodeloideae.
Aloe 'Red Shade' is red and purple and has a rosette growth form. You will receive a plant in a 10.5cm pot, with a total height of pot and plant of approximately 15cm. The maximum height it can reach is 30cm. Caring for Aloe 'Red Shade' is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Aloe 'Red Shade' does not tolerate waterlogging, so you should ensure good drainage and allow the substrate to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing is necessary every three to four weeks.
This succulent needs bright to semi-shaded conditions. This means an east or west-facing window, but a north-facing window is also suitable. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Aloe 'Red Shade' can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Fertilizing is stopped, and watering is reduced. However, the plant is not suitable for the garden.
The leaf bark of the Aloe 'Red Shade' contains a poisonous sap, and we cannot guarantee its compatibility with animals.
