The botanical name of this succulent is Echeveria shaviana 'Pink Frills'. Synonyms often used include Mexican echeveria 'Pink Frills' or Mexican hens and chicks 'Pink Frills'. In German, it is known as Echeverie. The succulent belongs to the plant genus Echeveria, which is assigned to the stonecrop family (Crassulaceae).

This succulent is native to Mexico. Echeveria shaviana 'Pink Frills' is pink, rose to purple with a rosette-shaped growth habit. The flower is strong pink to orange. It forms during the flowering period from summer into autumn. You will receive a plant in a 10.5cm pot, with a total height of pot and plant of approximately 10cm. The achievable growth height is 20cm.
Caring for Echeveria shaviana 'Pink Frills' is relatively easy. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Echeveria shaviana 'Pink Frills' does not tolerate waterlogging, so ensure good water drainage and let the substrate dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilize once a month, i.e. every four weeks.
The light requirements of this succulent are met in a sunny location. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best suited. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Echeveria shaviana 'Pink Frills' can spend the summer outdoors after gradually getting accustomed to direct sun. In winter, the temperature should be around 10°C. Also, fertilizing is stopped, and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
