Care instructions for your Haworthia

Succulents store water in their leaves and therefore tolerate drought well. Place them in a bright, sunny spot and only water them when the soil is completely dry. Avoid waterlogging at all costs!

It's better to water a little too little than too much.

I am Haworthia retusa

The botanical name of this succulent is *Haworthia retusa*. It is also known by its German names: Fenstersukkulente, Sternenkaktus, or Aloe retusa. The succulent belongs to the genus *Haworthia*, which is classified in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae. It is native to South Africa.

Haworthia retusa is green with a rosette-shaped growth form and a window-like leaf surface. The flower is white with greenish, brownish veins. It blooms from late spring to early summer. You will receive a plant in a 6cm pot, with a total height of pot and plant of about 8cm.
Caring for the Haworthia retusa is relatively simple. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. The Haworthia retusa does not tolerate waterlogging, so good drainage should be ensured and the substrate should be allowed to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing can be done once a month, or every four weeks.
This succulent needs a sunny, bright, semi-shaded to shaded location. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Haworthia retusa can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 10°C. Furthermore, fertilizing is stopped and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden. This succulent can be propagated by seeds, but also by leaf and stem cuttings. Haworthia retusa is generally non-toxic, but we cannot guarantee its compatibility with animals.
