The encyclopedia presents succulents with an unprecedented density and completeness of information, including complete synonymies, distribution data, diagnostic descriptions, and further literature references. A key to the genera covered is provided for each family. A selection of the species covered is illustrated in color; published illustrations are cited for many others.
This four-volume encyclopedia is the first comprehensive treatment of all succulent plants (excluding cacti and midday flower plants) according to modern systematic criteria in 30 years. It is eagerly awaited by botanists and collectors alike.
About the Author:
Dr. Urs Eggli is a botanist. He has been employed as a research scientist at the Zurich Succulent Collection for 15 years. He has already published several books on this subject.
