Titanopsis calcarea

The botanical name of this succulent is *Titanopsis calcarea*. Synonyms often used include *Mesembryanthemum calcareum* or *Titanopsis fulleri*. In German, it is known as *Echtes Kalkblatt*. The succulent belongs to the genus *Titanopsis*, which is classified in the family Aizoaceae (ice plant family). This succulent is native to South Africa, in the east of the Free State province, in the east and north of the Northern Cape province, and in the south of the North West province.

Titanopsis calcarea is green and yellow. The flower is golden yellow, almost orange. It blooms between August and October. You will receive a plant in a 5.5cm pot, with a total height of pot and plant of about 6cm. The maximum height it can reach is 6cm.
Caring for Titanopsis calcarea is relatively simple. A mixture of cactus and succulent soil is suitable as a substrate. Titanopsis calcarea does not tolerate waterlogging, so good drainage should be ensured and the substrate should be allowed to dry out before watering again. Generally, this succulent tolerates too little water rather than too much. Fertilizing can be done once a month, or every four weeks.
This succulent's light requirement is met in a sunny location. This means a south-facing window with direct sunlight is best. The optimal temperature is between 20°C and 30°C. Titanopsis calcarea can spend the summer outdoors after being gradually acclimated to direct sunlight. In winter, the temperature should be around 15°C. Furthermore, fertilization is stopped and watering is reduced. However, this succulent is not suitable for the garden.
This succulent can be propagated by leaf and stem cuttings. Titanopsis calcarea is generally non-toxic, but we cannot guarantee its suitability for animals.

Please note: Sizes, shapes and ages may vary for plants, as each one is unique. This is especially true in winter or when availability is low. The color also varies depending on the season.
